LSAC discouraging LSAT retakes?
Quoted directly from LSAC.org
Unusually large score differences are routinely reviewed by LSAC for misconduct or irregularity.
Just thought this was unusual and never heard of LSAC doing that.

That's discouraging cheating, not retaking.

Bring in some type of super high tech device to help you read and analyze? Or go back into sections if you have extra time?Clemenceau wrote:Think really hard about itAquila wrote:How could you even cheat on the LSAT?Clemenceau wrote:That's discouraging cheating, not retaking.

Considering the amount of $$$ at stake, probably more than you think.

Not sure how that would affect anything. If you make it into the exam, you're good.

I think it probably is irregular as well, but doubt it is that difficult, especially considering no one at your testing center has necessarily seen you before.benwyatt wrote: I think it happens fairly irregularly honestly.
If they didn't collect the exams halfway through and then redistribute them I could see it happening more often, but I think it's pretty tough to take it for someone else.

Ever taken a standardized test overseas?
$50 goes a REALLY long way; many countries' economies have a bribe system as a matter of process (this from experience living In numerous elsewheres). It may be tough to do here, but so long as the LSAT is offered in less-strict venues, this will happen with relative impunity.

There was that one case where guy took it in Hawaii and had an accomplice in mainland grab a test and run out and send it to him before the Hawaii test started.

They also analyze discrepancies between experimental sections and regular sections. If you got a 180 but went -17 on the exp, its likely you had a copy of the real test but with the wrong exp.

lmaoThe guy offered $5,000 for a copy of the LSAT, met an undercover detective at McDonald's, and gave him a copy of The Economist with $5,000 cash wrapped inside

Re: LSAC discouraging LSAT retakes?
I dont think theyre discouraging people to retake since they profit from each proctoring but obviously they're going to investigate your score if you tested twice at a 138 and 142 and then you pull off a 180.
