I have done some research on this and am aware that HYS would be my best options for my interests. But I also know that getting into those schools is very difficult, so I do not want to necessarily commit to only attending one of those three. I know that I want to end up in DC long term, ideally working for the federal government in some capacity. CRT in the DOJ would be the most appealing option if I decide to only practice long term.
I am a URM, have a 3.89 LSAC GPA, and scored a 168 on the June LSAT with relatively limited prep. I have thought about retaking, but because the costs for applications and visits are already a pressure on me, I just want to see how I will do this cycle instead of spending $400 to actually bump my score. I graduated with honors and distinction from Stanford with a degree in IR. My softs are good, but I only have WE in the context of academic research/campus jobs besides a 10 week internship I had at the DOJ.
Hoping for insight on what T14 options besides HYS might make sense for me assuming that I fail to get into any of those three. I really prefer starting next year, but am open to reapplying if nothing besides HYS would make sense for my goals. The T14 schools I have some interest in are Columbia, NYU, UVA, Penn, NU, and Georgetown. I'm open to debt, but only if it is clearly worth the burden (i.e. HYS).

I haven't been kept up with stuff this lately but, with a polished application, you should get HYS with your numbers and URM no problem. $$$ is another matter, and way out of my wheelhouse.

what kind of URM?
As far as I can tell its pretty much a wash after HYS, and even at HYS bigfed is hard to get
And you've probably also read in other threads how a lot of Fed programs are less prestige obsessed so it's more about connections/commitment etc.

Yeah, I know it is hard to get but I do have a start on those connections. The higher ups at my office liked me. Thanks for the input.Mack.Hambleton wrote:what kind of URM?
