Apply as a splitter or wait

Post by Bluex12 » Tue Jul 07, 2015 9:51 pm

I'm 3.3/164 currently, will be 3.35 at the end of summer term, and I plan to retake in October (PT avg was 169).
I graduate in December, and can almost guarantee I will be at 3.4 cum after my final semester's grades are in.

This would take me over the 25% at a decent amount of the schools I want to go to and thus no longer make me a splitter.

So my question is, should I apply as a splitter as soon as I get my LSAT back in October, or wait until my fall grades are in and am no longer at risk of being rejected for being a splitter?

Thanks

If you are shooting T14, your GPA will be low regardless of how well you finish up. Also schools will want to see your final grades so there is no reason not to apply early and have your retake be something you send out after part of your materials are in. So any schools you apply to are going to see you at 3.4 (or whatever your LSAC GPA converts to) and hopefully your October LSAT.

No T14, shooting for T20s and a few T30s. Obviously need to get the LSAT up in OCT, but yeah I'd love to apply as soon as I get those results, I've already written my PS and have LOR's done too.
