"Are you applying to other law schools? Please list them"
1) Why do law schools ask this?
2) Are you obligated to answer?
3) If you don't answer can they find out anyways?

My hunch is it's only useful in scholarship negotiations, they wanna know what peer schools to worry about. Just try to use it to your advantage, put a few better schools and a few big money WUSTL types.
It'd be weird to ignore it me thinks.
I don't believe so

It's just market research - schools want to know who their competitors are, so they can better tailor their marketing efforts. It won't have any effect on your application.
