Re: Bad idea?
It depends on who you are and what law school you'd be going to. You're going to have a college degree at 17? Wow.
If you think you're mature enough to handle law school.(especially when it comes to work ethic) It might not be a bad idea. But I'd be very careful. Law school can be a very stressful environment. I wouldn't have had the maturity to handle law school at 20...much less 17. But you're a different person.
All in all, it's not going to hurt you to wait. Could hurt you to start too early. But could also pay off in terms of earning potential if you have a law degree at 20/21 years old.(assuming you do well)

Interviewing with a law firm at age 18? 19? Not being able to go out to the bar with your classmates or colleagues or whatever for years? Not to mention slaving away in law school before you really have any idea who you are.
Sounds shitty to me. Just one man's opinion.

Re: Bad idea?
Weirdly enough, we had a 17-year-old in my 1L section. Once people figure out she's young she tends to get loads more attention than the rest of us (rightfully so, as a prodigy), but during class discussions it becomes painfully clear that maturity plays an important role in anyone's success in law school. I'm sure her IQ dwarfs mine, but I'm not convinced she did exceptionally well in 1L classes (not that I can say with any certainty). We'll see what happens after OCI in a month.

If you're smart enough and motivated enough to have your bachelors by 17, then I trust you could likely do well in law school at such a young age.
In regards to age and interviewing, some people look older than their years. If this is you, then issues with interviewing at a firm while young won't apply.
You could take a gap year and work and the experience could benefit your application.
Good luck.
