Also interested in this, with the rise of LSAT takers in February. Really hoping there isn't an increase in applicants this next cycle...

Considering we're still down 3.5% for the year, I don't think we've hit rock bottom yet.LadyProspero wrote:Also interested in this, with the rise of LSAT takers in February. Really hoping there isn't an increase in applicants this next cycle...

I don't think it'll be that different, probably the same as last two years

We have to keep in mind that it really hasn't been as much of a buyer's market as people predicted. Last year, most top schools maintained their medians. It doesn't really look like any schools are going to lose more than an LSAT point this cycle. I've been following Georgetown's wait-list thread closely and we've seen plenty of 168+ LSAT scorers get waitlisted or rejected. I remember that last summer a lot of posters here thought that a 166/3.6 was going to be enough to get into a T14 this cycle.
It's still a buyer's market and a good time to apply, but realistically you still need to be a really strong candidate to get into a T14.

Yeah, this is what TLS users should be paying attention too. Doesn't matter if overall numbers bounce back, as long as high scores continue to drop/remain low it's still a buyer's market.TheodoreKGB wrote:Yeah, plus upper score bands were way down this past cycle. Number of June takers will be telling, but even if there's a gain (barring a massive one), I doubt it will affect this cycle's applicants too much. At least a few top schools should drop a point or so in LSAT median; it'll be fresh on their minds, at least earlier in the cycle.antiworldly wrote:Considering we're still down 3.5% for the year, I don't think we've hit rock bottom yet.LadyProspero wrote:Also interested in this, with the rise of LSAT takers in February. I just can't see this cycle being tougher on applicants than 2014-15.

Can't wait. Spivey predicted T14 drops several months ago.TheodoreKGB wrote:Median season should be interesting.

It's hard to see a scenario where some won't:

unless law schools keep cutting class size. That's happened a great deal already though. In Fall 2014, law school enrollment was down 27.7% from 2010. This was the lowest enrollment since 1973. At some point university presidents are going to say no more on enrollment drops.

Applicants were only down 2.5% this cycle. Why should T14 schools be dropping medians any more??

165+ scorers were down way more than that.Mack.Hambleton wrote:Applicants were only down 2.5% this cycle. Why should T14 schools be dropping medians any more??
