Asking a LOR From a Current Professor?

Is it acceptable to ask a letter of recommendation from a professor whose class you are currently taking?

Yes it's totally acceptable. Especially if you've spoke to them outside of class or participate in class regularly. It shows genuine interest, which is all any professor wants to see.
