Re: Another "Should I retake and wait for next cycle" thread
I retook June and was able to get more money out of the school I had deposited at
I think the problem is more the GPA- not sure you're ever going to get a scholarship that would make attending one of those schools worthwhile
What is it that you want to do with a law degree? I take it you want to be in Florida long term? What do you envision your career looking like?

I wasn't trying to bash you for the GPA or anything btw, just saying that it'll be tough because the process is so numbers based.
It sounds like you have a better idea of what you want to do then most, which I think is good. It's just hard for me to recommend paying over 100K at a school like FSU or UF given the type of job outcome that is likely. On the other hand it sounds like you really do want to be a lawyer and I'm sure you don't want to be a bartender forever so I get it. Any way you could possibly hedge by going to a lower ranked Florida school for cheaper? Just a thought, I really don't know much about the Florida market.
I don't know, this is a tough one. I think either way retake in June and see if that helps you with your current options.

Much appreciated. Didn't take the GPA comment as a bash at all.

I agree with Zuck. You should probably apply to more lower ranked schools in florida and maybe even a few schools in surrounding states to try and get more money out of UF and FSU. Given your goals, attending lower ranked school for a deep discount would not be a terrible idea, especially since you are so committed to living in florida and are not dead set on biglaw.

Yeah, I think right now I am going to retake in June and go from there.
