LSAT Retake?
Hello all, not sure if this is the correct place to post but here we go.
161 LSAT (second take)/3.2 GPA in finance
Is it worth retaking to land around a 165?
I took 3 PT’s within two months of the LSAT and all of them were 166+. I had a personal issue come up about three weeks from test day which messed with my studying (1 week off, the other 2 considerably unfocused).
I want to start in corporate law and transition into public interest law as the years go by. I’m pretty mobile geographically, although I have some connections in a couple large southern cities.
Soft considerations include current work as paralegal in the executive staff for a large municipality and former AmeriCorps member.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Retake. You should take more pts too. Make sure that they are taken under test conditions.

What do you mean by corporate law and what do you mean by public interest law?

Re: LSAT Retake?
I guess the crux of my question is does a 165/3.2 give me a significantly better chance at a T14 than the 161, or are my stats still too low?

Too low, T14 is impossible with those numbersjwarre4 wrote:I guess the crux of my question is does a 165/3.2 give me a significantly better chance at a T14 than the 161, or are my stats still too low?

Re: LSAT Retake?
I'd probably retake. While I only applied to one T14 and its a bit of a reach to say the least, I got into a bunch of T1s with varying scholarships with a 165/3.2. I don't think a T14 would be impossible if you have an interesting background, but it would be very very unlikely. I'd retake with a 170+ goal if that's what you want.BigZuck wrote:Too low, T14 is impossible with those numbersjwarre4 wrote:I guess the crux of my question is does a 165/3.2 give me a significantly better chance at a T14 than the 161, or are my stats still too low?

Re: LSAT Retake?
Running the mylsn numbers, to get a top-14 (assuming not a URM) I have these rough estimates:
<167 - Nearly impossible
167 - Very slim chance
168 - Fair chance to get 1
169-170 - Good chance to get 1+
171 - Very good chance to get 1+
172-174 - Chance at T6
175+ - Good chance at T6
