Application timeline and scholarships
Regarding scholarships, how harmful is it to apply in for example November with an October LSAT compared to September with a June LSAT?

Not harmful... It's the Dec. or Feb. Lsat that can be harmful in missing the scholly boat

So there is basically no point in applying as soon as possible in August/September?

I mean, if you have the LSAT score you need and your apps are ready to go, I don't see why you wouldn't apply in September. Probably a good idea to take the June test (assuming you are ready) because then you just retake in October if you need to. It actually looks like taking in December is not really considered late anymore.RZ5646 wrote:So there is basically no point in applying as soon as possible in August/September?

Re: Application timeline and scholarships
There are a few schools where there may be a material advantage in applying before the December test. This year UVA handed out like 10+ Dillards in September/October to people that were already admitted. Since then, there have been virtually no Dillards handed out. But this was pretty strange of them to do.
Point is: if you have everything ready and there will be no change in your application between Sept and Dec, then there's no reason for you to drag your feet and delay. BUT if there is going to be any material advantage in waiting (ie a Dec retake), then you should ALWAYS wait, because the benefits of submitting early are negligible in comparison to a higher LSAT.

This isn't true. Many people have reported getting Dillards after October.Since then, there have been virtually no Dillards handed out. But this was pretty strange of them to do.

From what I've seen there have been many many fewer dillards after fall than during fall.Winston1984 wrote:This isn't true. Many people have reported getting Dillards after October.Since then, there have been virtually no Dillards handed out. But this was pretty strange of them to do.

Well fall is different than after October. OP, as you can see, people are still getting Dillards in January. I would guess that all of those folks that received Dillards in the fall would have received them in January.

Six dillards matriculation in 2008 and with a bigger class. There's 18 REPORTED dillards already. I wouldn't be surprised if they have handed out in excess of 36. I don't like your odds of getting a Dillard at this point.

It's better, but it's not materially better. If you're ready to go, submit. What's most important is you submit a strong application.RZ5646 wrote:So there is basically no point in applying as soon as possible in August/September?
