3.6X GPA, 167 LSAT Early Decision Cornell? Stand a chance?
I'm below median for both LSAT and gpa
Median GPA is 3.68 and median LSAT is 167.
Would it increase my chances to apply Early Decision II (January deadline)?
Or is there no significant statistical boost apparant in applicants applying regular vs. early decision. Can't seem to find anything about this specific school's process anywhere.....except this:
We apply the same admission standards during our early decision and regular decision processes. However, we will view it as a positive aspect of your application that you have committed to attend if you are admitted.
AHHHH what does that even mean???

Do you stand a chance? Yeah.
You would be paying sticker price though, which is no bueno.
If I were you, I would apply RD and retake in February.

Everybody is going to tell you to retake. Mylsn.info gives you a 45% shot at admission right now RD with insufficient data points for ED. If you up your LSAT to 168 (i.e. got a few more questions right), your chances become 87%. Retake; get into Cornell RD; negotiate with scholarship offers you have from other schools; save yourself tens of thousands of dollars.

A high LSAT score is oftentimes worth more than many people's homes.

I would say you have a good chance of getting in, given that apps are way down and you are right around their medians.

Thanks for the advice. I did retake in December but I think I bombed a section. Before that I was consistently getting in the low 170s....So we'll see. good luck to you all

FWIW I've seen a lot of people with your GPA and about a 170 or so on the LSAT getting 100k at Cornell/NU and 70k at Duke/Mich. Retake is the correct answer here. You also could be competitive for NU ED next cycle if you break the 170 plane (if they still offer it).
