Hi. I'm an international student hoping to apply to HYS law school. Since I will graduate college in my country, gpa is only factored in as superior/above average/average/below average and i am sure that my gpa will counted as superior.
I was wondering whether soft factors will give big effects in the admission for HYS. So far all i can count as soft factors are the following:
1.2 years as journalist in my university broadcasting station.
(Part of the leadership community)
2.3 semesters as part of the student council for my major.(student council leader of class)
3.international sport competition translating volunteer(10days)
4.grand prize in the english speech contest
5.3rd place in my university english essay contest
this is about it. I know that my softs are very weak...So i am very worried. I was wondering whether i should voluteer once a week in my senior year or just concentrate on my lsat and gpa!
Thanks for your help:)

Your softs aren't really going to help you in getting into HYS.
Concentrate on your LSAT and score 173+. And maybe take a couple of years off and get some work experience.

100% focus on the LSAT. Volunteering once a week isn't going to help your application, but an extra few points on the LSAT definitely will.annkim2017 wrote:I was wondering whether i should voluteer once a week in my senior year or just concentrate on my lsat and gpa!

And publish something, I guess.
