Send email updates?

Post by smiles123 » Fri Nov 14, 2014 7:01 pm

So, I applied to a bunch of my schools. After taking a practice test LSAT today an outscoring my Sept score 6 pts I decided to register(I under preformed my PTs on the September test a lot).

Should I update admissions with this? I don't really want to because my score is fine for most of the places I applied and I'd prefer not to delay the decision, especially in case I decide to withdraw my spurr of the moment registration before test day.

I'm not sure how this works but I assume they'll see this registration when I send in midyear transcripts mid December and/or a third recommendation...

So do I let them know by email, or just chill and have them inevitably find out in a few weeks...

So you're still in UG? You should withdraw all your apps, take more time to study the LSAT, get a job for a year or two, and then maybe think about going to law school.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm going to respectfully ignore it. Anyone have any advice in regards to my apps for this cycle?

If you're confident (read: foregone conclusion) in admission at the places you've applied, no need to let them know, just use the hopefully higher LSAT when you start negotiating for scholarships. If you think WL or denials are a possibility, just send a polite email letting them know you're retaking and ask them nicely to hold a decision until after the retake. Easy Peasy

You're a lock to get in with a score that's six points less? Sounds like your list of schools is not good.

Yes. Tear them up and don't go to law school till you've actually worked for a few years.

If you're going to be stubborn and go to law school right away, retake for sure. I guess you could argue that if you scored a 173 or 174 on your fall LSAT and retook a 179 or 180 on your PT, a retake may not be worth it.

I can only try, can't help those that want to sacrifice themselves to the flame that is the law school scam.
