Re: Taking a Year Off
It also wouldn't be a bad idea to get a job/internship in an area of law you think you'd be interested in. Much easier to find out what you want to do before you go to law school so you can focus on getting the outcome you want in terms of job placement.

Re: Taking a Year Off
You made a smart move by waiting a year and retaking the LSAT.
So are you a senior now or a recent grad? Can you realistically conduct a job search? While it may not matter for admissions, keep in mind that you'll discuss your pre-LS job at virtually every job interview. It doesn't need to be prestigious/fancy, but if you want an advantage over K-JDs, it should highlight skills like teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

I'm a senior now so I'm thinking it isn't really realistic for me to conduct a job search because I would only be able to work for about a year before attending law school. I'm thinking that improving my LSAT will do more for me than looking for a "better" job to add to my resume. I also believe keeping my job now will allow me the maximum time to study :)
