Is the December LSAT administration too late this cycle?
So, what happened to me is fairly typical:
I had a much worse than expected RC section this September--normally my strength--and ended up going several points lower than my average PT scores. I am confident that my retake in December will net me at least 3 extra points. My question is brief:
Specific to this cycle, how substantial do you asses the drop in competitiveness to be for T14 candidates taking the December 2014 LSAT (and applying immediately thereafter) to be? Assume that the candidate has median to slightly above median stats and is focusing on the mid-to-low 14.
I understand top applications are down, but I'd like to hear your take on this.

For most people, even a single LSAT point is worth waiting to apply until December scores get released. If you already have median stats for Columbia feel free to apply now and then retake in December.

I was admitted to Cornell with 2/3 scholarship and I applied on the deadline.
Chicago fills up early. I would check law school numbers applicant tabs, arrange according to date submitted, and see how those who submitted in early January fared.
I also got into NYU and Georgetown. Waitlisted and admitted to Penn.

That's reassuring. What were your stats? Were you an URM?
