Submitting optional after initial submission?

Is this possible? Would like to get my personal statement and resume in the pile, and maybe write up other stuff tuesday or wed.

You can, but it would reflect poorly on you if you submitted your app and then a few days later submitted your why X. If you waited a few months to do it, then it would become a letter of continued interest. But by then you may well have already been waitlisted.
