Too soon to remind prof about rec

Asked for a rec about 3 weeks ago. Said I was in the processes of filling out apps and would be applying in the next few weeks. Professor hasn't submitted the rec yet and most of my apps are just waiting on that. Is it too soon to send an email with a gentle reminder?

I waited about 6 weeks but I asked in early August so timing wasn't much of an issue. I'm sure it's fine with a gentle reminder - students in the c/o 18 thread have stated it might be helpful to give a deadline for them.

I think it's fine to send a reminder if you need to submit now. Next time, give them a firm deadline and make it at least 4 weeks away.
