You have a good shot. If I were you, I'd still retake for more money though. Getting a few points higher is full-ride territory.

Also, random school choice. Hopefully you're considering UIUC as well. It's a stronger school, and with your ties, it seems like a no-brainer in that tier.

Check out http://www.mylsn.info

Don't go to law school in AZ if you're from IL, you're most likely going to struggle to get a job because they will see you as a flight risk.

Or have you already gone to college in Arizona and you're just saying you're an IL resident because that's where you're from originally?

Definitely retake the lsat, you could get into some amazing schools with that GPA and a big jump is definitely attainable

What do you want to do with a JD?

I currently am finishing my senior year of college in Illinois. I want to practice some type of business or commercial law. I'm not sure of any specifics all I have is a vague idea of what interests me thus far.

I am also applying to UIUC but I'm not sure that I want to stay in Illinois.

If you think AZ is the place for you long term then move there and work for at least a year before applying to law school. It will make your story for wanting to stay in AZ more credible when you interview for lawyer jobs, plus you'll have the added benefit of figure out if AZ is actually where you want to be long term. Who knows, you might end up hating the state or the weather or something if you've never lived there before.

Law school isn't the time to move to a new place for a change of scenery. You need to be more focused than that.

What do you mean by business or commercial law? Can you post links of a few firms that do the type of work you're interested in?

I just know I want to end up going to law school where I want to practice since that's where I'll make the most connections.
Here's one link to the type of law I would be interested in. I've always found Intellectual Property interesting but don't have a science background for the patent aspect. I also find it appealing to be an attorney who advises entrepreneurs and start-up businesses on how to protect their inventions or ideas, etc.

You're not going to get biglaw from U. of Arizona--especially at a firm not located in Arizona.
