How to find a job before law school
With only 9 months left before law school, how can I try to find a meaningful job and be hired when it is clear from my resume that I am interested in going to law school, and I am sure this question will be asked during the interview. Why would an employer hire and train somebody just for 9 months? At the same time, there is a possibility that if I don’t like my options, I will be reapplying next fall, but I hope that it won’t come to this. My question is: How do I find a job for 9 months?
Thank you

You can always consider "outside of the box" employment should it be available in your area. For example I sort of fell into an on-call job since April whose duties require me to remove bodies from crime scenes, private homes, medical centers and transport them with care to the Coroner's facilities, funeral homes, airports for transport, or the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta. I hired on with the understanding that my schooling is what is most important to me considering my current career goals. I am allowed to run as little or as much as I want. Also, no my job isn't clean-up it's just removal and transport.

It's hard to help you considering we know nothing about you. What are your qualifications? Prior w/e? Where do you live? What type of job/s are you aiming for? etc.
If you're a typical k-jd without much going for you experience and qualification wise then either try to BS your way into an entry level position somewhere, or work in a bar tending or waiting tables type job where turnover is the norm, but money is still decent.

Re: How to find a job before law school
1) Dont tell them you are leaving in 9 months. 2) I imagine a resume for law school could also be tweaked to apply to a lot of entry-level positions such as HR, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, etc. Or try to get a job as a secretary or something at a law firm. My resume is pretty obviously directed towards law school, but I was able to use it to get a job in Compliance.
But be aware, you will probably burn bridges if you leave in 9 months from a half-way decent company. Training entry level employees is a large investment on a company's behalf.

Why is it clear from your resume that you're going to law school? I just started a new job and am planning on starting school in the fall. No reason for anyone to know thatLawBound7 wrote:With only 9 months left before law school, how can I try to find a meaningful job and be hired when it is clear from my resume that I am interested in going to law school, and I am sure this question will be asked during the interview. 1) Intern fo free
2) work part time at some crap job
Keep applying for Office-type jobs or legal places, but the above is probably the path of least resistance.
