Early Decision NYU LSAT 168

Post by manu92 » Wed Oct 22, 2014 11:57 am

I'm planning to apply early decision to NYU. My lsat is 168 and GPA 3.72. I know it's hard, but GPA is right on the median and lsat is slightly above 25th percentile. Thing is: I can still register for december lsat and give it another try.
Should I register for the December LSAT? Would this affect my early decision application in any way? Would NYU know about my registration?

No reason to apply ED to NYU. Submit regular apps across the board and let them know you're retaking.

I'm getting tired of posting it. Maybe people should get the point already.

Two things.
1. They were not actually asking about their chances, but had questions about retaking. (I grant you this question could have easily been answered through the search function)
2. For the love of god can you please type out "about", seeing "ab your chances is driving me crazy.

Your chances of getting in are improved. The drawback is your cost is very likely to be a lot higher. Depending on your economic situation, this might not be a wise choice.

Your chances are low, even with ED in my opinion. You're below both medians. Then again, NYU is easier to crack than it was just a few years ago. Here's c/o 2012, with CLS as a comparison.

Columbia University 3.60 3.72 3.81 170 172 175
New York University 3.57 3.78 3.90 169 171 173

And c/o 2017:

Columbia University 3.58 3.71 3.81 170 172 174
New York University 3.56 3.75 3.87 167 170 172

This. This is only a defensible move if you're a GI Bill eligible vet or have wealthy parents footing the bill.
