3.87/169 Any advantage to ED?

Post by tu_wangclan » Tue Oct 21, 2014 8:57 am

___ LSAT (Sept. 2014, first take, was PTing mid 170s)
___ UGPA from top 10 liberal arts, 2 years legal work experience

Target Schools: NYU, Columbia, UPenn

Planning on retaking in December, but wondering if there is any advantage at all to ED'ing at CLS or NYU.

If I apply ED, is worst case scenario I get pushed to RD and use my December score to apply to my targets and additional T14s? Or do I stand a chance at flat out ED rejection for this cycle?

I think general consensus would be to hold off and retake for better score and $$, but if I were willing to pay sticker at CLS/NYU, would the potential bump from ED be worth considering?

Thanks for any advice

The ED bump is minimal at CLS/NYU. Even if it weren't, sticker isn't worth it. Even my 70-year-old prof at CLS knows that "scholarships" are tuition discounts and that sticker is just a starting point in a negotiation. How out of touch are 0Ls to still buy into this ED scam? Not singling you out, OP--you seem to know what the general consensus is.

When it comes to ED...
