Applying in January

Post by Porkypots » Mon Oct 20, 2014 9:46 pm

Now that the scores are out and some of us are retaking, how bad is it to apt in January. My score isn't good enough to apply now so I want to wait. Will that put me at a disadvantage?

Applying in January is very likely that you will get waitlisted :( might want to sit out this cycle and just focus on the LSAT!

Simply put no it will not negatively affect you. The only thing that might be slightly effected if you apply in January is your scholarship money. However, make sure you have your application materials ready to go so that the day you get your LSAT back you can apply. plenty of people get in that apply in January, but the earlier the better. Hold off on your applications if you're afraid of rejections and knock December out of the park. Good luck, you'll be fine

Depends on where you are applying.

If you have everything else ready to go when you get your December scores, you won't be applying too late in the cycle at all. You do have slightly worse chances of admission/scholarship money than those applying earlier in the fall, but not so much so that you should wait another admissions cycle. There is a bit too much hype out there about timing the cycle, IMHO.
