Does anybody have any advice for how to handle the weird questions on the UVA app? In one section they ask about your interests and hobbies and your geographic preferences for practicing law. Can I put normal stuff like sports or are they looking for something original?

And does it matter what region I put? Would it look bad if I didn't list the South/ Virginia?


Then another section asks if you've ever visited UVA or spoke with a UVA rep. Are they doing this to weed people out? Is this a YP tactic to see if you've done due diligence? I know UVA is a notorious YP school and they waitlist everyone so that's why I'm a little worried.

They asked me about the interests/hobbies that I listed in my interview and we talked about it for a while. It's not too important what you put, but it could be helpful if you can chat about it in an interesting and memorable way.

Based on the 2018 applicants thread (come join us), no they don't. Also, I just answered those questions honestly re: interest and hobbies. Sports are totally okay, IMO. It's only 300 characters, how original can they expect it to be lol.
