Curious
Hi TLS, have lurked for a while, but decided to ask a question that I was simply curious about. Why did I receive fee waivers to UChi and Columbia with lower numbers (17x 3.8x) than a lot of posters on this site who didn't receive waivers? To me, it seems almost random why I would get one but another person with better numbers didn't, but I'm not so sure it makes sense for these law schools to hand them out randomly. My only conclusion would be they target people that they think are on the edge of their numbers so they may or may not apply and this gives them a little push towards actually applying, whereas if you have a very high score, you will most likely apply to both of these schools anyway so there is no need to give you a waiver. Maybe that's completely off, but I'm curious to the reasoning there if someone has some insight on that.

Re: Curious
I think your reasoning makes sense. Those schools want 170+/3.8 candidates so it makes sense that you got a fee waiver.
