LSAT Stress

Post by yhagopia » Tue Sep 30, 2014 9:35 pm

I took the LSAT on Saturday for the first time and I have an awful feeling that I underperformed. I've been studying since January, and I took BluePrint from July-Last Week. My scores on the final 3 diagnostics were 163, 159, 162. I really thought I'd be somewhere in that range.

On Saturday, Section 3 and 4 were games. I killed the first one, and got killed on the second one. Turns out the the first one was experimental (Person next to me had Reading as experimental and his only games section was my Section 4). I could sit here and cry about how bad my luck is, but I'm already trying my best to move on, regroup, and plan.

Going into this, my main goal was and still is usc law school. It's my senior year there now and I have a 3.6 which is nice, but I highly doubt my September LSAT score will be high enough to complement it. I already registered for the December exam. Regardless, I'm taking a week off to let my brain calm down, before I get back into it again (is that a bad idea?).

The only other thing I'm contemplating is whether or not I should cancel my score. I don't see much incentive to because although they see all scores, USC, Loyola, UCLA, and Pepperdine claim* they do not average multiple scores.

Just wanted to get your opinion on my situation altogether.

Thanks a lot.

We are on the exact same page (even our last 3 PT Scores are very similar).

I felt very nervous about the exam and underperformed as well, but would not cancel - you might surprise yourself and/or schools don't average anymore.

What I will do differently this time is really stick to a schedule - I got the LSAT Trainer book and set up one of the 8 week schedules from their website.

Take it easy this week to reward yourself and then formulate and stick to a plan. Now that you know exactly how the test works, you can simulate it better (I printed PTs on Gray paper now) and raise that score so that not only you'll go to USC, but with a significant scholarship.

See you in the 99th percentile!

Don't cancel. Virtually no schools average LSAT scores; only your highest score matters. At this point, just wait and see how you did, and definitely take a week (or 2) off to recharge. You'll be fine.

From one Trojan to another, dust off the dirt and get back to studying after a short break. With the right practice you can break into the mid-160s and beyond and nab those LA acceptances. People already said it but you don't need to cancel, schools don't average the scores. I took the LSAT three times before I was satisfied. Good luck and Fight On!
