what to do first for the application process?

Post by yunjh1066 » Tue Sep 30, 2014 1:26 pm

Hi everyone,

Just a general question and some approvals needed!

Just took my second LSAT (September). Have no idea how I did but assuming that it's around 155-160s (I might retake for the third if I get a good job as a backup but as of now, I want to go to law school and pursue governmental jobs etc.) and with my 3.8 GPA from a UC undergrad. Also a Certificated Paralegal. Graduated undergrad as a double major and got my certificate all within 3 years. But weak experiences (couple months job at a law firm and administrative jobs).

I am thinking to apply:
Loyola, USD, Chapman, UCI, Pepperdine, UC Hastings, UCLA/USC/UCB (i know, it's impossible but worth a try?), University of Washington (just a try and because my fiance is planning to attend there). Any other suggestions or possibilities?

What should I do first?
I got my 2 letters of rec from Professors; I just need to get one soon from my previous director at my last law firm.
I didn't get CAS yet but should I do that first?
Then request transcript?

Thanks everyone!

You will need to do far better on the LSAT to make law school a reasonable idea. Get a decent score is priority number one.

Almost all the schools you are sincerely targeting are raging dumpster fires. Depending on your goals, a full ride to a couple of the non-UCLA/USC/Berk) options could be acceptable, but they'll require a better score than what you seem to expect.

TLDR: Retake.

Not so fast, my friend. Are you URM?
