I would talk to an attorney about this one. Fraud and money crimes are shit the bar actually cares about.

I second the suggestion to speak with an attorney specifically familiar with C&F issues. It could be taken very well (nothing on your record, you were a minor, etc) or it could be taken badly (one of the privileges of an attorney is the fiduciary duty...)

CandFQuestionAnswer wrote:Understood, the odd thing though is I never went to court or paid a fine. I had never heard of a formal station adjustment until I was handed one. This happened 5 years ago and I am in the process of getting my record from the local police, which may help alleviate some questions. Working on applications though, and wanted to know the consensus of this. Currently I have a more lengthy addendum but was doubting myself.

That being said, I have a meeting with an attorney next week to ensure I can actually pass the bar where I want to work.
I think regardless you will probably have to disclose, and like I said above, the bar may not take this lightly bc of the 'handling other peoples money' thing.

I agree with the others in that you should speak with a C&F attorney on how best to navigate this one, but at the end of the day I think as long as you handle it properly you should be fine.

Financial crime and fraud are about as serious as it gets. Only apply once you're confident it won't be an impediment to C&F.

If you're advised by a C&F lawyer that it won't be a problem, disclose as fully as possible. Don't leave anything out and don't try to downplay it. Fully explain what you did, why you did it and how you've learned from it.

This will be one of the most important parts of your application.

Agreed, particularly because OP was a minor at the time.

One warning though for the OP: you write that you're checking with the police to see if they still have a record of the incident, thus suggesting that you won't disclose if the police tell you they don't have anything. That would be a mistake. Although a financial crime as a minor, alone, probably won't be a big deal, financial crime + failure to disclose might create a very serious C&F situation.

That's a really bad one. I seriously question your character and fitness after that story. :|

If you don't have any advice to offer don't post just to be a dick.

I'd rather give OP my account and routing numbers than share an elevator ride with Rascal. Blood for the Ban God.
