Hello, everybody. I started my academic career at an institution in the state of Washington, and then transferred back down to a university in Florida. I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on whether or not law school admissions would take the GPA from my first institution and conjoin it with my current UG I am attending at the moment, or solely look at my latter half of my academic career at my second UG. The reason I ask this is because I was a scholarship athlete for the first two years of UG, then decided to transfer back home so I could focus primarily on school work and getting job experience. I didn't do terrible at my first institution, but I definitely wasn't doing nearly as well as I am now that playing a Division 1 level sport is out of the way. My degree GPA is also far better than my cumulative GPA with my dismally performed pre-req classes I took my first two years. I may just have to write an addendum if that would help in my case.

Everything counts towards your LSAC GPA. Random community colleges I took (that actually brought my GPA down quite a bit) counted. Write an addendum, some schools will be interested to know that you were a Division I athlete at your first school.

Yes, your first school's grades will count as well. Your LSAC GPA is a cumulative score of all undergraduate grades from all institutions you attended prior to obtaining your first bachelors degree.

Ah, okay. I figured as much, just hoped for the best. Let's hope my personal statements/addendum do some type of magic for me. Thank you for the input.

They all count towards your GPA.

Would also like to add that your cumulative GPA is what matters, not your degree GPA.

I was in the same position as you. D-1 athlete for 2 years then transferred to focus on school. My GPA during my first undergrad was not significantly lower than my second so may not have been in the same boat - I did not write an addendum, but I did write my Personal Statement about my time as an athlete, not just what we did in general, but some of the dedication it took and how hard the decision is to transfer away from the team

Sounds about how I'm drafting my PS currently, plus other instances that were particularly tough for me throughout my childhood (URM who lived in a garage at one point because my family was that poor at the time lol) Thank you for your input.
