transcript question help!!
Do classes that were taken at a 2 year college that didn't transfer over in anyway to the four year institution (degree awarding institution) show up on LSAC/ or count towards the LSAC GPA??

So even though they didn't contribute to your degree credits at all they stick? does LSAC create their own transcript that goes to schools then?

You will give LSAC transcripts from every undergraduate institution (including community colleges) that you attended, and they will calculate a LSDAS GPA. This is the GPA that the law schools use when considering your application.cbateman212 wrote:So even though they didn't contribute to your degree credits at all they stick? does LSAC create their own transcript that goes to schools then?

Yeah they care...I literally just got off of the phone with them about a similar issue. You have to include everything from every institution that was completed before you attained your bachelors.

ok thanks. This leads me to another final question if anyone can help: what process does LSAC use to determine if a "W" is punitive or non-punitive. Mine ought not be punitive, but I'm not sure how they do it over there...

It's basically assumed to be non unless it says otherwise on your transcriptcbateman212 wrote:ok thanks. It can be frustrating to say the least. Depending on your UG you are sometimes basically encouraged to take certain classes at cc, and when your UG doesn't care about these grades it can be tough when you find out that LSAC does. Maybe unfair isn't the right word, but LSAC def has some policies that incentivize certain behavior, and it can seem unfair when you aren't aware of them.BornAgain99 wrote:How is it not fair? I for example took dual credit in High school that on the HS level was pass/fail, but was reported to the CC on a letter-grade basis. That cc recorded them as either p/f or letter grade depending on, and get this, where a particular student went after HS. So some people I graduated with have like 5 p/f credits from the same community college in the exact same classes that I have b's and c's in.
Kind of a tangent, the point being that LSAC's very rigid grade determination, though well intentioned, sometimes penalizes certain people over others in what seems to be an unfair way. Again I hesitate to use that label because, yeah, you still got the grades so whatever. Reminds me of the whole 4.0 vs 4.33 thing but I don't want to even get started on that.
