Re: Character and Fitness Accidental Omission
Shouldn't be an issue. Just find your dean of students email and see what he/she suggests procedurally.

You're good if you notified law school. Just listen to whatever they sayanony wrote:Dean of students a UG or LS? UG already told me its on the cert they sent. I already emailed LS admissions to let them know. Anything else to do?WhiteyCakes wrote:

I definitely had a hearty LOL at that one.Ricky-Bobby wrote:Dude, OP asked us not to quote.
Hey numero dos with RC issues (read: "WhiteyCakes"), edit your idiotic post.
ETA: just update your application and explain why you didn't include it. Don't minimize the fact that you did what you were cited for, but just tell the truth about why you didn't include it.

Do law schools actually ask for the dean's cert?sd5289 wrote:I definitely had a hearty LOL at that one.Ricky-Bobby wrote:Dude, OP asked us not to quote.

Re: Character and Fitness Accidental Omission
When did you email them? If you just emailed them yesterday, give them some time to work on it and call after the long weekend. As it was described to us at our orientation, they basically just have to say "Yes we still would have admitted anony". If what you described here is the truth, the answer is clearly yes, and late disclosures are somewhat common.anony wrote:Would it be a bad idea to call the admissions office at the LS where I enrolled? I already sent an email apologizing and explaining that it was a minor incident and I had forgotten about it. Is there anything I can hope to accomplish with a phone call?

Don't do that. The less control you have over your words (less time to think about and prepare them before you say them), on the whole, is a bad thing, even if you didn't do something wrong. You can mess up and say something foolish. Extra risk in return for no real opportunity to benefit.anony wrote:Would it be a bad idea to call the admissions office at the LS where I enrolled? yeah dude it's fine I had a similar "oops" this cycle (failed to disclose something bc I misinterpreted exactly what the school wanted disclosed), and they were really nice about it.

Re: Character and Fitness Accidental Omission
If it makes you feel better, I did almost the exact same thing on the REAL C+F and everything turned out ok.
I had a drinking citation as well and reported it to the law schools that asked for it (some only asked for academic discipline and others asked for any school imposed discipline). When I went to fill out the C+F for real, I didn't include this incident because the question regarding undergrad discipline had huge bold letters saying something about cheating or academic discipline. I checked no and moved on. Turns out I didn't read the question (that was like a paragraph long) thoroughly because it had a catch all phrase in there about any discipline imposed by the school. The investigator from the bar contacted me about it and I explained the mistake and submitted a letter regarding the incident. My C+F went through fine.
