How to write letter of continued interest?

Post by iloveturtles » Wed May 07, 2014 6:07 pm

I've been recently waitlisted to my number one school (found out this morning), they only accept one letter of continued interest. The thing is, I'm not sure how to write it, I've already mentioned in my application that I consider them my top choice and that I've also toured their law school. In the meantime, I already graduated so no new grades and I am not planning on taking the LSAT again. No promotion or award to talk about. What should I do?

Try to mention specifics about the school/a particular program that align with your interests/goals. E.g.:
I am particularly interested in clinics X, Y, and Z, which will allow me to continue activity A and will enable me to gain real world-lawyering experience in B. The many A-oriented student organizations are also of interest to me, especially groups C and D, which will enable me to pursue my passion for B, as well as continue doing related activity/research E. Furthermore, this school provides students with the unique opportunity to pursue a degree/dual degree/certificate/concentration in area A or B or *insert some other variable here.* This directly aligns with both my personal and professional goals, as *insert reasons here.*
This is pretty rough and is just meant to give you an idea of possible ways to approach your LOCI. Hope this helps!

There is an excellent article on this site if you need help with your LOCI. I used this approach myself.
