Advice on application timeline.

Post by ocastro » Sun Apr 27, 2014 7:50 pm

My GPA is currently 3.80 and I'm taking the LSAT in September/October. I'm sure to boost my GPA to 3.82 after fall semester is over. I'm wondering whether it would be more beneficial to apply in October and forego the GPA bump, or apply late December with a 3.82 and risk being in schools' applicant pool to late. Thanks in advance!

Might wanna wait until you get your score back, but a bump of 0.02 isn't worth delaying your applications on its own. (at the 3.8 level, anyway)

0.02 is definitely not worth getting your apps in that much later.

Even if there's a school with a median GPA of 3.81, you could just delay your app for that particular school. Although I'd probably still apply early and then just update with a new transcript when grades came out.

At this point, your LSAT is going to determine where you get in. And, since you don't have an LSAT score, that should be what you're worrying about right now.
