I've decided to sit out a cycle and reapply next year. I'm retaking the LSAT in October. Should I apply the first day apps are out or wait until the score comes back?
If it matters I'm applying to T-14 and my first take was a 167.

have your apps ready to go and push the send button as soon as you see the 17x.

TICR. As far as I know, the early app advantage really doesn't change from the day the apps open to the day you'll get your score back from an October LSAT. Also, you may want to wait to get that 17x and see if you get some app fee waivers. With a 17x and a GPA nowhere near as good as yours I only had to pay full price for 5 of the T-14 apps (HYS, Berkeley and Chicago, didn't apply to GULC). That's around $700 I didn't have to spend.Big Dog wrote:have your apps ready to go and push the send button as soon as you see the 17x.

See your score first. A November app is early enough that it shouldn't cause you to underperform your numbers. You need to see what your numbers actually are before you spend time and money applying somewhere. You'll have wasted a lot of those things if you apply to all of HYSCCN and your score doesn't increase.
