Another Letter of Continued Interest Post...Help Appreciated

Post by clemenza » Fri Apr 04, 2014 9:44 pm

Hi All,

I've been waitlisted at 4 schools to this point, all of which I would attend. There are a few aspects of my letters that I'd like some feedback on.

1) If there is one school out of the four which is truly my number one, is it appropriate to say something along the lines of "if offered admissions, I'd accept and withdraw my other applications." (?) What if for some reason, I am suddenly not able to attend that school if offered admission, what are the repercussions? Has that line, or one similar, worked for anyone else?

2) I have not visited any of these four schools due to their distance from me. However, I was thinking about including a line saying that I am hoping to visit in the near future. Would that backfire on me if I ended up not visiting? Does that statement hold any merit? And if i were to visit, would it be better to wait until after to send the LOCI? (In all honesty, I probably wont be able to visit these schools, I do not have the time nor the money to travel to three cities across the country).

Thanks in advance for any comments.
