Do white people get URM status there? Serious question. If you argue that AA is for school diversity instead of just for propelling minorities into high level jobs, it seems they'd have to give whites URM.

Despite 30 years of affirmative action, white students still tend to dominate admissions when it comes to LSAT scores and the top 20 law schools. But, that is not the only thing, and that fact is not really germane to the question you asked.jkhalfa wrote:Do white people get URM status there? Serious question. Yes, we argue that AA is to increase diversity but not just school diversity. We argue that AA increases diversity in the legal field as well. Though African Americans have made great strides in the legal field, black attorneys still remain largely underrepresented. I found this quote on blackenterprise.com:
So, while one may argue for school diversity, I think it is better to advocate for diversity in the legal field. Hope that answers your question.blackenterprise wrote:While African Americans make up 3.9% of all lawyers, the percentage of black Americans entering the legal profession today is lower than that of Hispanics and Asian Americans.
