So I got into some low ranked tier 1 schools and some higher ranked tier 2 schools. For example: I got into University of Maryland and Temple University. The difference in rank between Temple and Maryland isn't great, but it does cross the 50 threshold, so Maryland is considered tier 1 whereas Temple is tier 2.
Is there a world of difference between the two or is it just bragging rights and filler for view books?

Employment statistics are what is most important

With that being said rankings matter insofar as you want to pursue vocational tracks which require institutional repute and prestige i.e. federal clerkships, academia/legal scholarship, judgeship, administrative leadership etc.

It's a really arbitrary meaningless distinction. In my mind it basically goes: T14 -> really good regionals -> decent regionals -> shit. It's all based on employment statistics, not the USNWR BS.Agentsoapbox wrote:

It probably does not matter much, I would go based on employment statistics.

employment numbers and rankings change. try to look at the reputation scores and see if there's a meaningful difference in the eyes of employers & judges.
