Is it too late to apply?
Based on some of the responses I have received, I'm thinking of sending in a couple of additional applications to schools I had not been considering for various reasons. Any advise on what my chances are at this point would be greatly appreciated! I'm thinking of applying to WUSTL and University of Illinois. Stats: 164/3.8
I know two completely different schools and odds of course. But any suggestions would be great!

Everyone will tell you that you should retake for a 170+ and apply early next cycle. Going to a T14 will transform your career prospects and quality of life in ways you can't fully appreciate until you begin the job search process.

This.
If you really want to go to WUSTL, an improvement of 2 lsat points to put you at their median would do wonders for your chances and scholarships. with that said, if you are set on going to law school this Fall and you are not satisfied with your cycle so far (and you have some extra money on your hands) , by all means just apply to WUSTL and UI. It wont look badly that you are applying that late but it certainly wont help you.

Why so late? You'll have so many more options and better scholarship opportunities waiting until next cycle and possibly getting a higher LSAT and some work experience.hk227 wrote:Based on some of the responses I have received, I'm thinking of sending in a couple of additional applications to schools I had not been considering for various reasons. Thanks guys. Despite really hoping to go this year, I am seriously considering waiting it out until next cycle. What's the opinion around here on a Master's while I wait?

I mean don't get a masters just for the sake of getting a masters if your truly interested, can afford it and think it would be worthwhile sure I guess but most people would say get some work experience, study super hard for your re-take and reapply next year. If your set on a masters though I dunno we'd probably need more information about careers goals & situation etc.hk227 wrote:Thanks guys. You'll only be sitting out for a year, so you would have to find a one year MA program. Just work.hk227 wrote:Thanks guys. Despite really hoping to go this year, I am seriously considering waiting it out until next cycle. What's the opinion around here on a Master's while I wait?

Could be helpful if it directly relates to what you want to do, especially IP. But, I would be very hesitant to borrow money for it.hk227 wrote:Thanks guys. The better route is to find a job. Even a job waiting tables, a year in Americorps, or teaching English in Asia would be fine.
