Should I contact Admissions Office?

Post by koval » Sat Mar 08, 2014 4:39 pm

I just looked back at my LSAC application to Penn and in the optional essay I have 2 spelling errors. I am moribund. I haven't heard back from them yet. In UR as of 2/7. Should I contact them in some way to try to smooth over that issue?

Also, still under review at NYU as of 2/23. I didn't write a why NYU essay and was thinking of calling to see if I could add it to my file. Is this something I can do?

With regards to the typo, you're fine - put it behind you and don't worry about it in the least. I felt the exact same way in November after submitting 8+ apps before realizing I 'd somehow failed to catch a pretty stupid typo in literally the opening line of my PS. It bothered me for sure, but from what I can tell, it hasn't adversely affected my cycle at all (anecdotal, but so far good news from CCN and down). If you're a compelling applicant, they'll look past a typo. Good luck.

This thread is quintessential TLS. Hits all the notes in a few short posts.
