Question regarding Post-Bacc UG work.

Post by Jmazz88 » Fri Mar 07, 2014 9:14 pm

Basically to make a long story short last year I took a semester of undergraduate courses at a local college when I was thinking of possibly going the medical route (bio, chem etc). Decided shortly in to this endeavor that it wasn't for me, and suffice to say I didn't do that well. Keep in mind I already had my bachelors degree from another UG institution. My question is do I have to include this on LCAS? I know they say submit transcripts from all UG institutions attended but in this case I feel it isn't necessary, as it isn't calculated in their GPA anyway. Anyone have thoughts on this? Will I be "in trouble" if I don't submit the transcript for that one semester? Thanks!

Yes, you need to submit the transcripts.

Fortunately for you it will not impact your LSAC GPA, which means it will likely not have a great impact upon your cycle. You do not want to get into the situation of withholding and having it pop up later. It is a headache that you simply do not want to deal with.

Just to bump this real quick--

I ended up with all "W's" for the semester. It was only a month or so after the semester began so it was all done in a timely. Do I still need to submit this transcript? If I don't, will it be a major issue? Don't want to jam myself up.

Thanks.

As someone who dealt with this to the extreme, I might be able to help. First off, yes, you must submit it. You must submit EVERYTHING, despite how insignificant you think it is. If a transcript can be generated, it needs to be submitted, regardless of where it is from.

The next step you need to check is if it's even going to count toward your LSAC GPA, by using this link: http://www.lsac.org/transcriptkeys/igugs-search.aspx

Look to see if W's you attained at this school are counted or not counted, using the results you find in that link.
