How to submit add'l essay when WL'd

Post by thevuch » Fri Mar 07, 2014 4:08 am

Wait listed at UGA. Super splitter. Above 75 LSAT by 1pt right below 25 GPA by .05 pts... I've written a why UGA essay, and their app doesn't ask for a resume but this is where all my work experience is including 2 summers at a pretty big firm as an intern. Should I just email then this stuff? Email? Snail mail with personal signature to show sincerity? And how would you write the letter/email? Please add this to my file , been waitlisted want to show serious interest etc what would you say? Any advice, input, or experience is much appreciated

Yup. Exactly what you said is fine. Focus more on why you want to actually go to the school than on telling them about all the crap that you've done. Really be sincere about your commitment to the school.

Send it usps priority to the admissions office.

Include a letter that reiterates how interested in this particular school you are and why, along with a brief description of the additional materials you're including. Don't tell them that you want to show interest (as your initial summary said), but that you ARE interested, and lay out some specific reasons that show you've really done your homework on the school.

Be super-polite and thank them for their consideration and for taking the time to review these additional materials. And, don't make it too long; get to the point and make whatever supplements you send are well organized and labeled and don't create additional work for them.
