3.68/155/161 - Going to retake but need advice
I know there's a recent thread like this but my stats are lower, so I'm making my own.
UGPA: 3.68
LSAT: 155/161
First time, I incorrectly bubbled a section. Second time, I cracked under the pressure. I don't want to make excuses, though -- I understand it's evident I didn't do well.
Softs are nothing special: three years of full-time work experience, a master's degree and undergraduate activites.
As far as practice tests went, I peaked at 170. My scores were in the 165-170 range. So I'm going to retake in June and apply very early in the cycle next fall.
Nonetheless, even if I do better on the real test, how are these two scores going to affect me? Can I still get into a T14? Are schools like CCN out of the question, at this point? What about the rest of the T14?
Right now it seems like Fordham and maybe BC/BU are the only schools I can apply to. My chances aren't solid at any of them and I probably won't get $$$. From what I've read it doesn't seem like a good idea to pay sticker for these schools.

Don't bother applying now, there's not really any worthwhile schools for you with those numbers.
Schools won't care about the two lower scores, just focus all your energy/attention toward the retake rather than sweating the small stuff.

If you apply with your current numbers, there are several tier one law schools that will offer scholarship money. Better to retake, however, as even a three or four point increase should drastically change your options.

just retake and apply next cycle. the retakes are unlikely to have a very significant effect on your cycle. fwiw, the cycles of all the retakers i know went as you'd expect based on their highest score, not any sort of average---even at CCN-level schools.

A 170 is a very good score, but you will still have some significant gaps in your understanding of the LSAT (I speak from personal experience). This is especially true for you since 170 is your current high, and not your average.
You need to study hard some more and not just do some practice tests.

Definitely retake and try to get your PT score up to mid/low 170's. Even if you drastically underperform again, you will be competitive with a mid 160's score and your gpa at the lower T14
