when do the new school rankings come out for 2014
when do the rankings come out and will the new rankings influence your decision on where to go?
Just wondering

For 'US News' I think it's usually mid-March. Subtle changes to rankings probably wont matter to me any, but changes to employment numbers might.

Barring something crazy (Columbia drops out of the T14, Cornell jumps to #1, etc.), it won't make any difference to me at all.

Other than being interested to see what happens with Georgetown and maybe where NYU is going to place it won't matter to me. Interested to see ATL's rankings and what the employment scores are.

LOL. So if USNWR ranked Cornell #1 and CLS #20, it would make a difference to you?Lightworks wrote:Barring something crazy (Columbia drops out of the T14, Cornell jumps to #1, etc.), it won't make any difference to me at all.

Well, assuming they keep the same rankings formula (as flawed as it may be). I don't pay any attention to subtle changes, but for those equivalent to the ones I mentioned, I would definitely take a second look at my options.
The rankings are flawed, but they aren't meaningless.

I'm just curious how they came up with that...I mean I'm not surprised they put themselves at #2guano wrote:Cooley to #2

I always got a kick out of how they placed themselves at #2, wouldn't want to be pretentious or anything.KD35 wrote:I'm just curious how they came up with that...I mean I'm not surprised they put themselves at #2guano wrote:Cooley to #2

#9 does seem high, given their employment numbers. It wouldn't shock me to see them drop all the way to #12.

They started by ranking themselves 2nd, then spent months trying to figure out how to justify itKD35 wrote:I'm just curious how they came up with that...I mean I'm not surprised they put themselves at #2guano wrote:Cooley to #2

Their methodology is pretty entertaining. "Percentage of graduates employed" is weighted the same as "number of professional librarians". Other highlights include library seating capacity and total square footage of law school facilities. Unbelievable...

A little bold to put nyu before Cc, I personally think it'll go the other direction. Penn and nyu tied at 6.daryldixon wrote:Prediction:
