definitely retake.
I had a low gpa and a high 160s score too. I regret not retaking for more options and scholarships

You studied for 5 hours a day for a couple days before the LSAT (essentially you didn't study at all) and you pulled a 167. The LSAT is a learnable test and you should commit to studying and retaking because you can absolutely get 172+. And realistically you should be shooting for 174+ with a 167 as basically your diagnostic score.
If that is your lsac GPA, distinct from college GPA, then yours is extremely close to mine. It won't be an auto ding with the right LSAT score. You will get looks from CCN and down.

Thank you for the responses. Would there be any negative consequences of applying this year to some schools that have given me a fee waiver, even if I am leaning heavily towards retaking? I may want to apply to those schools next cycle.
edit: I understand that while I could get in to plenty of schools with my 167, I would do better with $ at those schools if I do well on a retake. I don't want to apply because if I get in to X school I'd go.

Don't waste time on curiosity applications that could be better served on studying for the LSAT. Unless you qualify for a full ride at your state flagship and want to practice in that area, you are probably not going to get an offer equal or greater than what you can get next year with the right score.
