It's still significant. Just want until 2013 class employment stats come up, fewer people will matriculate when they see the results.

Why is that? Are the stats expected to be worse than 11/12 or something?zman wrote:It's still significant. Just want until 2013 class employment stats come up, fewer people will matriculate when they see the results.
Also, when do those stats come out?

lol, you realize that this is the lowest on the entire list right? From every year back to 1987, this is the record lowest number of takers in December. What more could you want?

I'm with you on this. Considering the Retake mantra, a 6.2% drop is quite solid.vicpin5190 wrote:altoid99 wrote:http://lsac.org/lsacresources/data/lsats-administered
I was expecting a bigger drop, tbh.
This makes some sense to me actually. Apps and applicants are dropping but on the flip side, the December administration is no longer putting you "late in the game" for a lot of schools. If December is usually lower than October, I could see retakers keeping that percentage drop from being lower than expected.
just my tree fiddy.

Meh, I'm not sure that it's any stronger than it would have been last year. Though the idea that Dec/Jan submissions are no longer late I could see being a relevant change.ThetaX wrote:I'm with you on this. Remember class of 2013 had the most matriculants ever. Even if the job market was as good and even a little better than 11/12 it would still be really bad.AT9 wrote:Why is that? It's down 44% from the December 2009 LSAT. That's huge.

Re: Dec 2013 LSAT takers down 6.2%
Here's my question.. How many of those ppl taking Dec are retakers? TLS and other websites have emphasized how important a good LSAT score is and it seems more and more ppl are retaking.
So I wonder if the number if UNIQUE test takers is down even more than in past cycles. I'm guessing there is no way to know.

Somebody knows the break down for first time takers?
In Oct first time takers -13pct, first time and retakers -10pct.

I just talked to Spivey, he is going to look into it after he gets over his depression from having just watched lone survivor.

I am recommending a couple of Shark Tank episodes against depression. Couldn't pull my self away.

So are there solid grounds for us to say that those applying in January are no longer at a major disadvantage?

That is a wonderful idea. I think I'll do just that today --love that show. In fact, Karen and I are going to do a video spoof of it...."but...but please give us $10 million we are so passionate we love our business..." I've also asked people to try to dig up the retake/first-time split for you guys. Hopefully someone has it already.Creditisgood wrote:Thanks.I just talked to Spivey, he is going to look into it after he gets over his depression from having just watched lone survivor.
