How detrimental is it if you apply for HYS after the DecLSAT

Post by Veni_Vidi_Vici » Thu Jan 09, 2014 8:45 pm

I know applications start earlier and some people take the June LSAT.

1) Can you apply before taking the LSAT?
2) How much does applying in December hurt you chances at HYS and Columbia?

I applied to HLS in December, SLS in January, and YLS in late February. Accepted at all three. If they want you, they'll accept you.

Yale, not at all. I don't think it makes much of difference at Stanford. Maybe a bit at Harvard

YS will accept you if they want you no matter when you apply. At H you get a substantial boost for applying early (and if my LSAT logic is still working, that means you're at a disadvantage for applying late)

Every law school tells you that you should apply earlier (except Y, where it is irrelevant). A single point on the LSAT is more important than applying earlier. Seoulless linked you to the only hard data we have on this issue. There's nothing else to add.
