Why do people still send their LORs to LSAC by mail?
I've been wondering about this for quite a while.
I asked my professors& recommenders to upload the letters on LSAC's website. I figured this would be easier and faster than regular mail, especially since I'm living outside the States. (I believe letters by mail take several weeks to be processed by LSAC whereas uploading them online requires no such process..right?)
But I still see many people getting their LORs on paper, sealed, and sending them by mail.
Is there a particular reason why people still do that? Or are there disadvantages of uploading the letters on the site rather than mailing them?

All mine got faxed in and two were uploaded same day. Not sure why anyone would mail them.
Edit: When I talked to my recommenders, I told them they could mail it, fax it, or upload it directly and they all chose fax.

I gave all my recommenders the option. Some of them may find it easier to mail a letter than navigate LSAC's website, and since you're asking them for a favor, you should do everything you can to make it easy for them.

I just uploaded a few LoRs today, and it was a ridiculously easy process.dlrbfl wrote:Is there a particular reason why people still do that? Or are there disadvantages of uploading the letters on the site rather than mailing them?
That being said, I can see some professors who aren't that tech savvy just dismissing that option out of hand.
