Do retakers actually get into HYS?
Was batting much higher on PTs but only hit the high 160s on my actual test. Do HYS even consider re-takers?
FWIW scored a 169 on test day and was batting a solid 175 average on my PTs. GPA is 3.74.

Yes, in your case I'd absolutely retake. Look through some of last year's threads in the Law School Acceptances forum...you'll find plenty of retakers who were admitted

Re: Do retakers actually get into HYS?
Will now say the same thing I always say when this question comes up:
I had one cancel + multiple retakes good enough for lower T14. Put off LS for a while while working, figured out why I was having problems with the test, retook and scored in the high 170s, now at HYS.
Take your time. There's no rush. See the world, get a job, even a lame one; you'll gain life experience and your time at LS will benefit. You won't regret it when you're confidently prep testing at your target score.
Edited because you already know you've got the right stuff.

Not always, but a lot of us still get CCN with money. Retaking is almost always worth it.

Having a little trouble pinpointing the relevant discussions within the posts. Do you remember some usernames of those in this situation?lastsamurai wrote:Yes, in your case I'd absolutely retake. Really? Can you briefly share your experience?banjo wrote:Not always, but a lot of us still get CCN with money. Retaking is almost always worth it.

I retook a long time ago and got a HYS-type score. Even though I wasn't admitted to HYS, retaking was still worth it--got money at all of CCN. In other words, HYS isn't the only reason to retake.Seoulless wrote:Really? Can you briefly share your experience?banjo wrote:Not always, but a lot of us still get CCN with money. Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense. To be honest, I'm more interested in CCN. What was your first and second score?banjo wrote:I retook a long time ago and got a HYS-type score. I'm under the same dilemma - I have one cancel, one 170. If I retake, it'll have to be next June (I don't think I'll be ready for Dec). I see a couple of retakers, but is there a 3rd time retaker who could share his/her experiences? Thanks

164, took a break from the LSAT for a few years, and then a 176.Seoulless wrote:Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense. To be honest, I'm more interested in CCN.
