Addendum Required?

Post by gargoyle » Tue Oct 22, 2013 3:59 pm

I'm thinking about writing an addendum to describe my battle with cancer last spring, and why I think it may have hurt my GPA. It fell from a 3.75 to a 3.64 in one semester (mostly B's), and I am absolutely sure that my treatments/time spent out of class had some effect on my ability to do well as a ChemE.

Are letters like these usually taken seriously? Is there any reason NOT to include a letter like this when applying to law school? I don't want it to sound like a pity fest, but I would like them to know that having cancer during my Junior year complicated things.

This is one of the few examples of a great reason to write an addendum. Definitely write one.

This would make a worthwhile addendum, even though your GPA did not slip that much.

Okay I'll definitely write one then. Thank you for the quick replies!
