How many LORs/Resumes/Personal Statements will LSAC take?

Post by samantha.b233 » Fri Oct 04, 2013 1:12 am

I have been asking around for LORs. So far I have got 3 on my profile, 2 more to come. I remember seeing it somewhere that says LSAC would hold up to 5 LORs on your file so you can select different ones for different schools. But then I know an article in 2009 by TLS says it is 4.

If it's 4 instead of 5, how do I "drop" the one extra? Would that recommender know about it?

And speaking of number of attachments...how many resumes/personal statements would LSAC hold for you? I have been submitting different versions of resumes/personal statements for a few schools, just wondering if it would be an issue in the near future?

Thank you!!

Not sure what the answer is to the Q about LORs, but it will hold (seemingly) infinite personal statements/resumes/etc. If know one else knows what the max number of LORs is, I'd call LSAC. Their support hotline is actually pretty fast and helpful (just hit '0' as soon as you dial or you'll have to listen to a recording explaining generic crap).

Appears that they can hold an unlimited number! I currently have 14 recommendations uploaded to my account under 6 different letter writers. They're a mixed bag: general letters, targeted letters for specific schools, WL/held letters in advance, backup/just in case letters! So submit to your heart's content :)

You can also "hide" recommenders that you're not going to use - they can't tell and it just gets rid of some of the clutter.

LSAC will "hold" up to an unlimited # of resumes/PS, but you don't need to worry about that as you can also choose to upload them individually from your computer for every different application.
