GPA Rank on app

Post by armysgt » Thu Oct 03, 2013 6:56 pm

Has anyone considered putting the "percentile rank" from the LSAC Academic Report?

For example, a 3.7 may not be highest GPA when applying to HYS, but I'm sure it looks more impressive if it says something like "Rank: 95th percentile (LSAC)."

Any thoughts on this?

I think it might be ok to put on your resume. They'll see it nonetheless though so I doubt it will make a difference

my school won't tell me it until after graduation.

I just put N/A on the apps. (actually I may have left it blank). Basically what I'm saying is it doesn't matter as deputy said above.

Well, supposing that I do put it on, I was concerned with the fact that it's not the actual ranking of all the students, but one provided by LSAC that compares me to every student from my school that had their GPA processed by LSAC within the last three years (hence the "LSAC" in parentheses).

It probably won't matter all that much as many of you say, but it can't hurt, can it?

No one cares. Your 3.7 is the same as a 3.7 from a different school. Your 3.7 isn't any more special than any other 3.7.

Don't do this. If they're wondering what your 3.7 means, they'll look at the CAS report.
